lodging guidance.

Which airport should I choose when booking my flight?

We recommend choosing Dulles International Airport (IAD), which is ~35 minutes away from the venue—our own backyard. The second-best option is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and a last-resort option is Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

When is the RSVP deadline?

We ask that invited guests RSVP no later than June 21st. This deadline includes disclosure of plus-ones.

What is the parking situation?

If possible, please carpool with other guests. There is room to accommodate everyone in our neighborhood, but we hope to impede as little as possible on our neighbors. Parking alongside neighbors’ property is fine, but please ensure that you are not blocking anyone’s driveway.

Will the wedding be held indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will take place outside, en plein air, and the reception will be held in a tent.

Is there a dress code?

Come as you are! If you are looking for general guidance or inspiration, cocktail attire is suggested, and our theme colors are forest green and copper. September tends to run warm in Northern Virginia, but a cardigan or light jacket is recommended in case the evening turns chilly. We also recommend that guests wear grass-friendly shoes.

Will food and drinks be served?

Yes. Catering details coming soon. Please include any dietary restrictions on your RSVP so that we can account for additional accommodations.

Will there be bathrooms on site?

Of course! We will have signage providing directions to our guest bathroom.

Can I take pictures with my phone or camera during the wedding?

We kindly request that you keep your phones tucked away during the ceremony, but the reception is fair game! If you plan to share photos on Instagram, we would be delighted if you would tag us and/or use the hashtag #torlerion so that we can collect and relive the memories you’ve graciously captured for us.

Will there be a quiet space for guests to retreat to if need be?

Yes. The living room will be the designated “safe space” for anyone who needs a moment of peace. You won’t be bothered there, except perhaps by the resident dog (Ivy) or cat (Lorna). We also welcome guests to roam around our property if they need a moment away from the crowd—or simply want to explore!

Is there a gift registry?

We just want to celebrate with our loved ones, and gifts of any sort are by no means necessary. If you insist on a gift, please consider contributing to our honeymoon registry, offering well wishes via a handwritten letter, or donating to one of our selected organizations. Physical gifts such as letters may be left on our dining room table (indoors).
